The Little One lay quietly on her back on the grass behind her home, arms spread like wings, eyes gazing into the dark sky. All around was perfect silence. Only the night wind brushed lightly against her skin. She raised one hand toward the streetlamp’s glow and saw a soft, pale mist around her forearm, as if a delicate energy body surrounded her small hand.
“Universe,” the Little One whispered, her voice trembling in the stillness. “Am I seeing an aura?”
The Universe answered without hesitation, as if it had been beside her all along. “Little One, what you see may indeed be a reflection of the aura. An aura is an energy field surrounding all living things. It is a mirror of your soul, your emotions, and your spiritual state. The light you noticed around your hands may be exactly that: a subtle yet powerful vibration that your body radiates.”
The Little One studied her hand more closely, trying to make out the glow. “So auras can look like this?” she asked eagerly. “Do they always appear the same?”
The Universe replied with a smile, like a warm ray of light touching her face. “Auras are much more than a simple reflection. Their colors and intensity vary according to the state of your mind and body. Sensitive people, like you, can begin to see or sense them naturally. The light you perceive may indicate purity, harmony, or a connection with higher spiritual realms.”
The Little One nodded, though more questions stirred within her. “I’ve heard that auras can be colorful. What do the colors mean?”
The Universe spoke slowly, its voice carrying ancient wisdom. “Each color holds its own energy and symbolism. Red speaks of vitality, strong will, and passion, and at times of anger or intense determination. Orange represents joy and creativity, radiating social warmth and optimism. Yellow reflects clarity and confidence and is strongly linked to the power of the mind. Green stands for balance and harmony, showing healing energy and a bond with nature.”
The Universe paused for a moment before continuing. “Blue is the color of spirituality and peace. It represents deep communication and truth. Violet and indigo belong to the highest spiritual realms, speaking of wisdom, intuition, and a connection to higher dimensions.”
A memory surfaced. The Little One turned thoughtfully. “Universe, I once had a Kirlian photograph taken. My aura was deep indigo blue, close and bright around me, but at my throat there was nothing, as if something were missing. What could that mean?”
The Universe grew quiet for a moment. When it spoke again, its tone was thoughtful and profound. “An indigo aura shows a high spiritual state, Little One. It is connected with intuition, inner wisdom, and deep understanding, sometimes even psychic ability. Indigo often relates to the third-eye center, the source of insight and awareness of the unseen. It means you were in touch with deeper truths and spiritual energy at that time.”
The Little One closed her eyes, recalling how vivid the blue had looked in the photo. Yet the break at her throat troubled her. “Why was there no aura at my throat? It looked as if something was blocked.”
The Universe nodded gently, understanding her concern. “A gap at the throat can mean a disruption in the flow of energy in the throat chakra. This energy center governs communication, self-expression, and the courage to speak truth. When it becomes unbalanced or blocked, it may appear in your aura as an empty or dim area.”
The Little One tilted her head and listened carefully.
“This blockage can come from many causes,” the Universe continued. “If you find it difficult to express yourself freely, whether through words, feelings, or your own truths, the throat energy can become suppressed. Perhaps something went unsaid, or you lived through moments when you felt held back or misunderstood. A break in the throat area often means it is time to rediscover your own voice and give yourself permission to express what you truly feel and think. Do you remember how you communicated back then?”
The Little One thought for a while, feeling the words settle inside her. “So the missing part of my aura could mean I wasn’t expressing myself freely?” she asked softly. “It was a long time ago, but I remember feeling lonely. I had friends, yet I wasn’t used to sharing my thoughts. I went to a psychologist who encouraged me to open up to my friends. I had to learn how to let people in because I felt too separate.”
“Exactly,” said the Universe. “When the throat chakra doesn’t flow freely, it shapes how you see yourself and how you connect with others. But this is also an opportunity. When you begin to free that energy, perhaps by speaking openly, writing, or singing if it feels right, the blockage begins to release. The missing part of the aura fills again with light as you allow yourself to be fully who you are.”
The Little One smiled to herself, remembering how hard it had once been to say what she really meant and to be her odd, authentic self. She had never thought it might show in her aura. “Thank you, Universe,” she whispered with a new understanding. “I think I’ve already found my voice.”
The Universe smiled back.
“Can I learn to see the colors in auras too?” the Little One asked eagerly.
The Universe laughed softly. “Yes, Little One. You have the sensitivity to perceive subtle energy, but it takes patience and focus. Seeing auras isn’t only visual; it also means sensing energy through your intuition.”
The Little One listened closely as the Universe went on. “You can begin by looking softly at the edges of your hands or another person’s outline. Choose a neutral background, like a white wall, and relax your eyes. Don’t try to see anything by force. Allow your vision to soften, and soon you may notice a fine light or tint surrounding the form.”
She nodded, imagining how she might learn to see these vibrations. “Can I practice with nature?” she asked.
“Nature is an excellent teacher,” said the Universe. “Trees and plants radiate their own energy, and observing them helps you tune in to the auric field. The energy of nature is steady and pure. Looking at green grass or leaves can show you how energy moves. At first you may see only a faint light, but with practice you’ll begin to notice shades and hues. Patience and openness are the key.”
The Little One grew quiet, though one question still lingered. “Why do we have an aura? And are there other layers we cannot see?”
“You have an aura because you are more than physical beings,” the Universe replied. “You are multi-dimensional. The aura acts as a bridge linking the physical body with the emotional, mental, and spiritual layers. You have several bodies and planes that the eyes cannot perceive.”
“Beyond your physical body is the etheric body, which sustains your life energy. It’s the first to show in your aura and lies closest to your physical form. You also have the emotional body, where feelings and reactions flow, creating vibrations that affect the color and brightness of your aura.”
The Little One closed her eyes and imagined her emotions moving around her, shifting the colors of her light.
“There is also the mental body, the layer through which your thoughts and beliefs operate,” the Universe continued. “Your thoughts are reflected in your aura. What you believe about yourself and the world shapes how your energy moves and what you experience in life. Manifestation happens through this level. The highest layer is the spiritual body, connected to your soul and to the consciousness of the Universe. It resonates most purely with love and wisdom.”
The Little One breathed deeply, letting the words sink in.
“These layers are in constant communication,” the Universe said softly. “They are not separate. Your physical state affects your spiritual state, and your thoughts and emotions echo back into your body. That is why the aura can change and vibrate differently over time.”
Now the Little One understood that she was part of something far greater than what her eyes could see.
“I’ve had a strange experience with energy, Universe,” she said quietly. “I once woke up in the middle of the night and thought the lights were on. The brightness felt so real that I was sure the room was lit, even though my eyes were closed. At the same time I felt electricity running from my arms to my feet. It was stronger than anything I’d felt before, like my whole body was buzzing and boiling with energy. I became frightened because I felt so light, as if I might float away. The fear made the feeling fade. It happened twice that night. Each time, I woke thinking the lights were on. What could that be?”
The Universe listened carefully and then replied. “Little One, what you describe is a profound experience. It may relate to powerful energetic or spiritual processes that open new levels of awareness and connection to higher energy. The bright light you saw was not an illusion; it can be a sign that you were in contact with a strong current or a higher state of consciousness. Many people see such light when their energy field activates and the soul moves near other dimensions, such as during deep meditation or dreamlike states. The light may be a sign of awakening, and the electric current suggests your energy system, perhaps kundalini energy, was beginning to rise.”
“Kundalini is a life force located at the base of the spine. It can awaken spontaneously or through spiritual practice. When it rises, it flows through the body, often bringing sensations like the ones you felt — warmth, electricity, even weightlessness. Many people describe the feeling of floating or separating from the body.”
“Your fear was natural. When the energy reaches its peak, it can feel as though control slips away or the body connection weakens. This kind of release is far stronger than ordinary experience. Fear or tension can cause the energy to calm and return to rest.”
“Waking into that brightness twice may also mean you were entering an elevated state of consciousness where spiritual dimensions open. It might even be related to astral projection, a moment when your soul was preparing to move beyond the body. The brilliant light can appear right at that threshold.”
The Universe paused, then continued gently. “All this means you are awakening to deeper spiritual awareness. Your body and mind are tuning to higher frequencies, and you have the opportunity to strengthen this connection. Try meditation or soft breathing before sleep to guide the energy calmly. Meeting these experiences consciously helps you learn balance and steadiness. In time, you may move through such states with awareness and peace.”
“My dear Little One,” the Universe said tenderly, “this experience is a gift. It invites you to explore your energetic nature and spiritual strength more deeply than before. Even if it feels overwhelming, remember that you are safe. You will learn to find harmony within this power.”
“All right, Universe. I’ll practice,” the Little One said, smiling as she rose from the grass and walked back inside to join her kind.
